Mortal Kombat 1 – Online Stress Test Announced & Kollector’s Edition Cancelled

The online stress test starts surprisingly early Mortal Kombat 1, for which you can still register. It starts as early as next week.

As per the updated FAQ, from June 23rd 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST through June 26th, select attendees will have the opportunity to get a first look at Mortal Kombat 1 to throw. This will initially only take place on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while invitations will be sent via email on June 21st. If you still want to apply for the test, you can do so under this link.

This first online stress test has nothing to do with the planned beta phase in August, which all pre-orderers can take part in. Thus, the selection of players for the online stress test should be somewhat smaller. The official FAQ provides all further information on the online stress test.

What became of Mortal Kombat 1 Kollector’s Edition?

Unfortunately, there is also bad news for Mortal Kombat 1 Fans, because the previously announced Kollector’s Edition has been secretly canceled for Europe. While pre-orders have not been possible up until now, the Kollector’s Edition option has now also been removed from the official website.

Only the Standard and Premium Editions can be found there, while the Kollector’s Edition is only available in North America. That’s a shame because the design of the Kollector’s Edition was created here in Germany.

This was particularly true of coarse.gallery’s Liu Kang statue, which was again designed by the handcraft duo of Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk. This also applies to the sculpture by Liu Kang, which is based on their works.

If you’re still aiming for the Kollector’s Edition, you’ll probably have to go via ebay, where it can be imported for a surcharge. At least there is a making-of that shows the work process behind the statue.

Mortal Kombat 1 will be officially released in September.
