How the Fifth Anniversary Collection Challenge Works in Pokémon Go

Collection Challenges in Pokemon Go were introduced in January 2021. They run along with in-game events. Each Collection Challenge asks you to collect a specific number of Pokémon in different ways.

When you complete the Collection Challenge by catching all the requested Pokémon, you will receive various items as a reward and progress towards your Elite Collector medal.

The Fifth Anniversary Collection Challenge runs in tandem with the Fifth Anniversary event of Tuesday, July 6, 10 am to Thursday, July 15, 8 pm.

Collection Challenges can be found at ‘Today View’ if you tap the field research button (the small binoculars) at the bottom right of the screen.

There you will see the list of Pokémon that you need to catch to complete the Collection Challenge. Once you’ve caught one of these Pokémon, it will be checked off the Collection Challenge list. This way you can easily keep track of which Pokémon you still have to hunt.

And don’t forget: the Collection Challenge must be completed before the associated event ends, because after that it’s gone forever!

Have fun with Pokémon Go’s fifth birthday!
