To complete a Collection Challenge you will have to capture a specific list of Pokémon during the event that is associated with the challenge. The 2021 Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge includes multi-generation Pokémon and two Legendary Pokémon.

There are several ways to get the Pokémon you need for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge 2021, including Raids, hatching Eggs, and completing Field Research Tasks exclusive to Valentine’s Day Event 2021.

In the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge 2021 you will have to collect twelve Pokémon from Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 5. It is by far the most difficult Collection Challenge to date, with numerous Pokémon that you can only get after defeating them in a Raid.

These are the Pokémon that you will have to capture for the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge 2021:

Umbreon.

  • Nidoran – Female (in the wild)
  • Nidoran – Male (in the wild)
  • Espeon (Three Star Raids)
  • Umbreon (Three Star Raids)
  • Plusle (in the wild)
  • Minum (in the wild)
  • Volbeat (In the Wild, One Star Raids, and Field Investigations)
  • Illumise (In the Wild, One Star Raids, and Field Investigations)
  • Luvdisc (in the wild and 5km Eggs)
  • Latias (Five Star Raids)
  • Latios (Five Star Raids)
  • Alomomola (Three Star Raids and Field Investigations)

Remember – for them to join the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge 2021 you have to capture them. That means if you evolve an Eevee into Espeo or Umbreon it won’t count for the Collection Challenge.

Completing the 2021 Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge will earn you five Silver Pinia Berries, a Lucky Egg, and an Incubator.

Here’s everything you need to know about Go Beyond, including the arrival of the Gen 6 Pokémon from the Kalos region (X and Y), the level cap increase to 50, Legacy Challenge 40, the new Candy XL, and the Season of Celebration, which includes the arrival of the Deerling and Sawsbuck Forms, the Espurr Raid, and the Kalos Celebration Event.

We also have the new Field Investigations, two Community Days that retrieves all the Pokémon from the Community Days of 2019 and 2020; the classic Hours of Featured Pokémon and the start of Season 6 of the Go Fighting League. In addition, the monthly missions of Team Go Rocket are back with an interesting novelty along with some new Red Eggs ‘Strange’ and changes in the Pokémon lineup of Leaders Cliff, Arlo and Sierra as well as Giovanni.

Tips for completing the 2021 Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge in Pokémon Go

Here are some tips to help you catch all the Pokémon in Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge 2021:

  • Placing a Lure Module on a PokéStop is a good way to get Pokémon to come to you.
  • Don’t forget to use the incense to attract Pokémon to your location. Hopefully, you will see some of the Pokémon you need for the 2021 Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge.
  • Several of the Pokémon can only be obtained by defeating them in Raids, so it may be time to use any Remote Raid Passes you have.
  • To get Latias and Latios for the Collection Challenge you will need dedicated teams to defeat them in Raid. Try to avoid KO your Pokémon at all costs, because then you will receive fewer Premier Balls.
  • If you have trouble finding Luvdisc in the wild, try hatching any of the 5km Eggs you collect during the Valentine’s Day Event.
  • During the Valentine’s Day event you will find Field Investigations with which you can get some of the Pokémon from the list of the Collection Challenge. Of course, you may have to visit several PokéStops to find the research task you need.

During the Valentine’s Day Event in Pokémon Go, you can obtain and complete a series of exclusive Field Investigations. If you manage to add them to your list, you can complete them even after the event ends.

However, we recommend completing them during the event, because it will help you complete the 2021 Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge.

  • Use 5 Berries to help you catch Pokémon – reward: encounter with Ralts

How the 2021 Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge works in Pokémon Go

The Pokémon Go Collection Challenges launched in January 2021 and coincide with other in-game events. Each Collection Challenge asks you to catch a series of Pokémon that, thanks to the event, will appear more often in the wild.

Once you have completed the Collection Challenge capturing all of them you will receive rewards: you will get various items and you will progress in your Elite Collector medal.

Valentine’s Day Challenge 2021 coincides with Valentine’s Day Event 2021 – will be available from Sunday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. (local time) to Thursday, February 18 at 8:00 p.m. (local time).

Keep in mind that the Valentine’s Day Collection Challenge 2021 will disappear forever when the event ends, so if you want the rewards you will have to keep an eye on the Pokémon you need.

The Collection Challenges can be found in the ‘Today’ section which you can access by pressing the Field Investigations button (the small binoculars at the bottom right) and moving to the screen on the left.

After accessing ‘Today’ you will see a list of all the Pokémon that you have to capture to complete the Collection Challenge. Catching a Pokémon in the Collection Challenge will bring up a completion mark on the list, so you can easily see which ones are missing.

Keep in mind that the 2021 Valentine’s Day Challenge will disappear forever when the event ends, so if you want the rewards you will have to keep an eye on the Pokémon you need.

Good luck completing the 2021 Valentine’s Day Challenge!
