A new NPC has been added to the Shadowlands beta in memory of a deceased World of Warcraft streamer

Reckful’s news of his death shook the gaming world, and of course Blizzard would like to pay tribute as well. The legendary figure of Twitch lives on in the world of Azeroth.

Byron “Reckful” Bernstein was one of the defining figures in the World of Warcraft community. Many knew it, many loved it, so it meant a lot to all the streamers and millions of viewers on the platform when it ended its life a month ago. Later, countless World of Warcraft players gathered in his honor at Stormwind Cathedral and Grommash Moon in Orgrimmar.

There was already an easter egg in the game about the streamer, but the NPC that showed up today became a much stronger allusion. The Shadowlands beta servers have a Rogue Trainer named Reckful standing in front of the Cathedral of Light. Right where thousands had gathered in his name before.

The caption “I don’t train Assassination Rogues” in the picture, by the way, presumably suggests that Reckful earned Rank 1 in Season 5 by deliberately avoiding the Rogue caste’s strongest talent branch at the time, Assassination.

Reckful will thus be a part of the game forever when the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands add-on is released.
