Apple has hired a former Warner Music executive to work on improving its services. Apple Music. This is Jeff Bronikowski, and he has been named Global Director of Strategic Music Initiatives.
Jeff shared the information on starting his new job at Apple via LinkedIn, mentioning that he will be working with the Apple Music team.

Apple Music continues to grow at a moderate rate
Prior to working for Apple Music, Jeff Bronikowski served as Senior Vice President at Warner Music Group. His job was to focus on global business development, innovation and new technologies, according to his LinkedIn profile. From Reuters they detail that he previously also worked at The Echo Nest, a firm that was acquired by Spotify, as well as IAC and Tribeca Shortlist.
Apple Music faces stiff competition from Spotify, which continues to expand its services to offer podcasts and original content. Currently, Apple Music has more than 60 million paying users, and for its part, Spotify has more than 125 million subscribers.

Apple has not shared any official data on the growth of its music platform since last June 2019, so it is possible that Apple Music has already managed to grow its number of subscribers to 70 million paying users.
