Apple launches 7th beta of macOS Big Sur for developers
Apple just released the seventh beta version of MacOS Big Sur. This update, although with some delay according to the planned schedule, comes with all the news of the previous version, more improvements in performance and fixes of several errors.
Seventh beta, getting closer to a GM
After the initial release of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and macOS where all versions were released at the same time, after several versions in which the Mac operating system has been delayed for a few days the accumulated lag is considerable. Let’s remember that it was last September 3 when we saw the last update of MacOS Big Sur. On this occasion, in addition, Apple has released Xcode 12.2 beta, which comes after version 12.0. A version that, according to some theories, could be a fork of 12.0 to avoid leaks from a 12.1 version that should be presented with the new iPhone.
Like other years, and as the beta schedule so far hints at, the final release of macOS Big Sur may be delayed compared to the release of iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and tvOS. At this point, in addition, we do not have big changes but correction of errors and small improvements in the new functions that Big Sur will bring. Hopefully overall system stability, as well as some visuals, will improve on all supported computers.
Let’s remember that, although we can install these versions by following the steps that we exposed at the end of July, and although these beta versions are among the most stable that have been seen in time, are still development versions containing bugs.
If we are already within the beta cycle, we will find the update in System Preferences as an OTA update. During the first hours, Apple servers can receive more demand than usual, so the waiting time can be lengthened. In SamaGame we are already updating our Macs and we will update the article if news appears.
