Apple releases first beta of macOS Big Sur 11.0.1 for developers

Apple just released the first beta version of MacOS Big Sur 11.0.1. This update features all the new features we have seen appear throughout the beta cycle, plus performance improvements and fixes for some small bugs that still need to be polished for the final release.

Beta of 11.0.1 and waiting for the arrival to the general public

Apple continues with the development of macOS Big Sur which, like other years will be presented more than 7 weeks after the arrival of iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and watchOS. The final versions of these systems have already seen the light, in fact we are already in the fourth beta of iOS 14.2.

Being a beta of version 11.0.1 we expect some news in addition to the correction of errors and small improvements on the new features and redesign that Big Sur will bring. Hopefully, overall system stability, as well as some visuals, will improve on all supported computers. With this version we get one step closer to the final version, we do not know if 11 or 11.0.1, of which we currently have no date.

Let’s remember that, although we can install this version by following the steps that we exposed at the end of July, and although the Big Sur beta is one of the most stable that has been seen in time, still a development version containing bugs.

If we are already within the beta cycle, we will find the update in System Preferences as an OTA update. During the first hours, Apple’s servers can receive more demand than usual, so the waiting time can be lengthened.
