The River raids are a new activity in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and came into play with Update 1.1.2. They bring you new challenges and Rewards in England.

How do I start river raids in AC Valhalla?
The river raids are a new activity in your settlement in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Make your way from the port of your settlement in eastern armor and across the bridge until you see a group of people in front of you and a cutscene begins.
After the short conversation, the new one Jomskai-Building automatically erected, then join the conversation Vagn and go on your first raid with him. As part of the quest “A river to rob“This is how you get to Exe. Your goal is to find and loot a large meal chest. You can do this in the first, small settlement you come across. Then follow the instructions and complete the mission.
After your return you can speak to Vagn if you want to start a new raid. Simply select the respective river on the map out. Then you put your team together. The higher the rank of a Jom Viking, the more effective they are in combat.
If they are badly injured in combat, they land back home, but must recover before you can use them again. You hire new crew members in the Jomswikingerhalle.
You choose your next destination on the map.
How do the river raids work?
Have you started a river raid in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you land on the river of your choice. Now drive along and look for places to loot. These can be small settlements, soldiers’ camps or even a monastery.
Hold the D-Pad down and you will get information about the current river raid. The alertness indicates how much enemy reinforcements can be expected. As you raid locations, smoke and fire will increase vigilance and more enemy reinforcements will appear in other locations.
If you carry out raids in a region too often, better defenses will be temporarily erected, including river chains and towers.
The Freight counter shows you how many foreign goods you have looted, how many are to be looted on the current map and how full your cargo hold is.
You can also see the health status and meals of each crew member. You loot one Large meal chest, you and every single Yom Viking on your ship will receive a meal. Yomswikings consume them automatically when they are in poor health. You can also use your meals to revive battered Yom Vikings who are lying on the ground if you act in time. Otherwise, they are out of action for the remainder of the raid.
Chests with foreign cargo can be found in soldiers’ camps and monasteries. The freight serves as currency at home, so you use it to build one in Hraefnathorp Jomswikingerhalle and improve it, there are also new rewards and you can improve your river robbery ship.
Do you need one River robbery key, you can basically always find them in the immediate vicinity of the respective chest or at least in the same place. Activate Odin Sight and look for a white glow.
During a river raid you can return to the settlement at any time if you are currently on the road as a skipper, hold the D-pad down and select the settlement symbol.

With the captured foreign goods you can do a few things at home in your settlement, like one Jomswikingerhalle build and improve as well as goods in Vagn’s shop buy and yours Upgrade river heist ship.

For each area of the river raids there is a separate quest in which you have to look for pieces of equipment.

- Location: Ufer-Kloster. Below the monastery.

- Great helmet of St. Georgius
- Location: Hill Outpost. In a chest in the southern area.

- Location: Devaburh. In a chest in the southern area above a staircase.
- The blessed sword of St. George
- Location: Deva Victrix. Reach the top of the fortress and defeat the enemy to get the sword.
