Welcome to Super Power Unlimited, the serial that lists the superhero news for you every week. On this Monday, Marvel again dominates the news, but there is also room for DC with Aquaman and Watchmen news.

It’s already time for the sixth Super Power Unlimited with news about the very smallest hero in the largest comic book movie universe in the world: Ant-Man. Fans want Luke Cage and Iron Fist back on Netflix and the Watchmen series has started filming. In short, plenty to read and watch this week!

Michael Douglas: “Quantum Realm will be very important in future MCU.”

Respected actor Michael Douglas, who is Dr. Hank Pym stars in the Ant-Man films, revealed in On Air With Ryan Seacrest that the Quantum Realm, the dimension that was central to the first two Ant-Man films, is going to have a huge role in both Avengers 4 and the future of the MCU. Douglas was asked if Ant-Man and the Wasp is in direct contact with Avengers 4 and his answer was as follows:

Right. That is absolutely true. I mean, all of them – the Quantum Realm, that’s the key. The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.

Hank Pym is the inventor of the Pym Particle, the technology on which the Ant-Man suit is based. Pym was the first person to assume the Ant-Man identity and then pass it on to burglar Scott Lang. This description is the basis for the story of the first Ant-Man movie.

** If you haven’t seen Ant-Man and the Wasp yet, heavy spoilers below! **

The importance of the Quantum Realm in later MCU films is more or less known through the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp. The story parallels that of Avengers: Infinity War, but takes place in a different location. At the very end of the movie, Scott (Paul Rudd) enters the Quantum Realm to collect a particular extract while Hank (Douglas), Janet (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hope (Evangeline Lilly) oversee the operation from the ordinary world.

When Thanos wipes out half the universe with his Infinity Gauntlet, the trio disappears, leaving Scott trapped in the Quantum Realm. Just before Scott enters the mini-dimension, he is warned about the time vortices present there, which in turn may indicate the possibility of time travel through the Quantum Realm. In Avengers 4, would one attempt to undo Thanos’ atrocity by time travel? The trailer description of Avengers 4 that could be read in an earlier Super Power Unlimited, seems to confirm this …

Undo petitions cancel third seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist

Disappointed fans of Luke Cage and Iron Fist have started petitions on Change.org to bring their favorite heroes back to Netflix. The Guard had already reported the cancellation of the third seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist for the past week. At the time of writing, 3,237 people signed up for Luke Cage and over 29,600 people signed up for Iron Fist. M. Raven Metzener, showrunner of the second season of Iron Fist, has indicated on Twitter that he was overwhelmed by the number of signatures for the petition:

I’m humbled by the fact that so many people have signed this petition to #saveironfist – so glad so many people enjoyed it. We loved making @ MarvelIronFist @ netflix @ NXOnNetflix # saveironfisthttps: //t.co/F0vOdBmzfq

Whether the autographs will help is doubtful, the second seasons of Luke Cage and Iron Fist received generally mixed reviews from critics. Wimpie sees a meeting of the two in a Heroes for Hire setting in any case, if they really should not return in a solo series.

Iron Mans Proton Cannon may have been spotted on Instagram

An Instagram post featuring an Avengers 4 set photo hints at a signature weapon from the Iron Man comics. The Proton Cannon, one of Iron Man’s most iconic weapons, appears to be pictured in the Instagram post. The crass piece of technology had been on the screen for a very short time in Avengers: Inifnity War, where it was in James “War Machine” Rhodes’ workshop. Below the image in question:

In the comics, using the mega weapon is one of Iron Man’s special attacks. The radius that the cannon fires is immense and naturally causes enormous damage:

Many Iron Man fans will therefore like to see this weapon in Avengers 4, but an official confirmation that this is really the Proton Cannon is unfortunately not yet available.

Recordings for HBO’s Watchmen series have begun

The recording of HBO’s Watchmen has begun and in honor of those recordings a somewhat remarkable first post has appeared on Watchmen’s new Instagram page. The image shows a police officer with something about his or her hearing that is completely yellow … The text below the image reads: Who watches the Watchmen?

So what exactly this image wants to tell is a mystery, but with Alan Moore’s graphic novel in mind, this mask could well be by Rorschach. This schizophrenic superhero starred in both the graphic novel and the 2009 film, wearing a similar white mask with black spots. The design for Rorschach’s mask is based on the test of the same name to reveal schizophrenia in humans.

Aquaman toys show different characters

Two sets of Aquaman toys depict some of the characters in the movie. Besides Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) himself Orm the Ocean Master (Patrick Wilson) and the Brine King can be seen, in another image Curry and Orm can also be seen next to Black Manta (Yahya Abul-Mateen) and General Murk (Ludi Lin) .

Although these toys are from the official toy line that comes with the movie, it is not at all certain that the characters will appear as such in the movie. Toys are designed from concept art for films. Aquaman will run in Dutch cinemas from December 12.

Rumor: List of Possible Directors for Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 3

Superbro Movies comes with a possible list of directors who just fill up Guardians of the Galaxy. 3 can take over from the fired James Gunn. The three ladies have all participated in well-known and well-received series and films. A brief description of the three filmmakers and their track record:

Dee Rees started her career with a number of short films, before making her debut with Eventual Salvation in 2008. Her most famous directorial job is for the 2017 film Mudbound, which received an Oscar nomination for best adapted script. Ress is a big fan of Black Panther and even called it “the best Marvel movie ever made.” That statement may be debatable, but at least it has the connection with Marvel.

The next director on the list is Michelle MacLaren. She directed episodes of Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones and Westworld and was associated with Wonder Woman for a while. However, she left the production and the direction of Wonder Woman was ultimately done by Patty Jenkins.

Finally Jane Campion An Oscar-winning director who won the gold statue for best original script in 1993 for her work for The Piano. She was the second woman to ever score an Oscar nomination for best directing, but has stayed away from feature films in recent years. For this reason, her spot on the list seems a bit weird, but given her track record, she could have a shot at the job.

If this news is confirmed in the coming period, you will definitely read it on SamaGame!
