Baldur’s Gate 3: This is how multiplayer and viewer integration work
- Viewers can vote on decisions in Baldur’s Gate 3
- You are not bound by these results
- The features are completely optional in multiplayer
How does the multiplayer work in Baldur’s Gate 3? The Larian Studios have now commented on this in a new community update.
“Thanks to a mix of performance capture and adaptive cameras, the game can react to the characters chosen by the players, regardless of whether in single or multiplayer,” they say.
Streamers also have the option of enabling external interaction. With the crowd choice feature on Google Stadia, viewers vote on decisions and the results are shown in percent.
Which of course means that you have to follow this vote. Unless you want to let viewers completely determine your path.
“In addition, viewers can interact with the overlay and view useful information such as the player’s inventory, character sheet, skills and selected spells. […] Both features will appear together with the Early Access version for PC and Stadia. This not only connects the community more closely with the player, it also enables the streamer to lead his own adventure for his viewers, in which they can have a say in all decisions. “
You don’t have to use any of this, it’s completely optional.
“You tell your own story and we will stage it for you,” says Cinematic Director Jason Latino. “We bring the camera from their perspective over the players and down into the drama, where the action is. I don’t know of any other early access game that has implemented cinematics at this level. A lot of games that add cinematics have to be downsize a bit for implementation. We didn’t want that. “
Baldur’s Gate 3 will start Early Access on September 30, 2020 on PC and Google Stadia.
Your journey begins in Baldur’s Gate 3 in Avernus, the first level of Hell. You can use five Origin characters or a specially created character for this. It is not yet known which classes and races will be available for Early Access.
