Bayek’s voice actor in Assassin’s Creed Origins opens a development studio
Silver Rain Games is a new development studio based in the UK and is founded by the actor and producer Abubakar Salim. Fans of Assassin’s Creed: Origins may remember Salim as she voiced protagonist Bayek, but she also lent her vocal talent to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is The Bradwell Conspiracy.
Salim will direct a new IP developed by Silver Rain Games, in which former BAFTA program manager Melissa Phillips heads the studio. Silver Rain is hiring “a growing team of developers” for the project. “The gaming industry is so exciting,” Salim said. “I grew up with games, so it’s natural to take the next leap, which is to create them. I want to be able to give something back to an industry and an audience that has supported me.”
Phillips added: “It is extremely exciting to start work on a new IP. We are currently in the prototype stage. We are looking forward to meeting all the talented people who could join our team and will be looking for funding opportunities in the coming months.” .
