Aliens: Dark Descent – All Xenotech Blueprint Locations

When you’re at war with a new threat, knowing your enemy is crucial not only to winning the war, but also to ensuring your survival in times of desperation. Xenomorphs are a terrifying threat with very few weaknesses. Stepping into the dark with little to no preparation will leave you chock full, harvesting a tiny Xenomorph in your belly. Fortunately, research into these horrific creatures has already begun, in the form of the Xenotech Blueprints. But finding them turns out to be harder than expected, especially since you often have to eliminate the alien queens from the nest for the search reward. But if you want to get ahead of the Xenomorphs, you’ll want to find the Xenotech Blueprints. So this is Vincent’s guide to where to find all Xenotech blueprints in Aliens: Dark Descent.

All Xenotech Blueprint locations in Aliens: Dark Descent

Xenotech Blueprints provide research on new equipment and gear you can use against Xenomorphs. From explosives to a way to get Facehuggers off the ground, saving your Marines from gruesome death. Keep in mind, though, that while Blueprints offer new technology to preserve your life against the Xenomorph, you’ll need to spend Xenosamples each time you want to bring any of the Xenotech gear. For this reason, you will want to strategize on what you determine to be a higher priority than others. Having the extractor will come in handy for those who go all-in, no matter the situation. Therefore, finding yourself attacked by Facehuggers more often than other players.

Almost all Xenotech Blueprints can be found by killing the Alien Queen in most missions.. You can find queens inside missions such as Dead Hills, Berkley’s Docks, Pioneer Station and others. You must kill the queen on these cards in order to obtain the Xenotech Blueprint because she seems to be hoarding research on her body so you won’t get your hands on it. We highly recommend using fire against her as this, just like in the movies, seems to be a primary weakness for the Xenomorph. Use the environment to your advantage where we recommend planning your route out of the area mid-fight so you can keep a safe distance away from the queen. You’ll need to take a multi-tasking approach of moving your team around while simultaneously shooting the queen to knock out those HP.

While some Xenotech blueprints can be found inside rooms exiting main hallwaysthese are missions where multiple Xenotech can be found. You can find Xenotech blueprints in Dead Hills (2nd Floor), atmospheric nightmare (1st floor) and Montero (1st floor), away from the Alien Queen. Other than those, you’ll mostly find the Xenomorph research at the Alien Queen location. You can usually find the queen inside the basement levels of each map. You’ll know when you’re near the change of scenery where the iconic Alien Habitat can be seen. From the remains of skin and bones of ancient Xenomorphs to the massive amount of Xenomorphs that focus on your position to protect their queen.
