Modern Warfare 3 Update 1.037 (January 17) | Patch Notes

Below you can find the latest patch notes for the most recent Modern Warfare 3 update. We always focus on buffs, nerfs, and gameplay changes in our patch notes, rather than on new content.

Sledgehammer is trying to win the hearts of CoD players and has therefore reversed all of the most unpopular changes made by IW last year. But if they want to maintain community goodwill for a very long time, they’ll need to continue making big decisions for MW3 throughout its lifecycle. And that starts with regular, smart balance changes.

In In this article, we have the full patch notes, patch size, and a short guide on when you can expect future patches. Let’s dig in and see if MW3’s latest buffs and nerfs make sense!

Warzone Update 1.037 (January 17) | Patch size

This patch is 17 GB, as it contains content for Season 1: Reloaded. It’s definitely not the biggest update ever, but we’re getting a ranked mode, a new map, and a new weapon, so it’s naturally bigger than the weekly balance patch.

The game is obnoxiously large, but you can now remove all MWII.

Warzone Update 1.037 (January 17) | Fix overview

Here’s a quick look at some of the changes made in the latest patch.

  • They reworked a ton of hills for Hardpoint (yes, SHG really cares about composition).
  • They upgraded these weapons from MW3: SVA 545, FR 5.56, WSP Swarm, Striker-9, Lachmann Sub.
  • A ton of MWII weapons (almost all of them) have been buffed.
  • The only things that got nerfed were the Holger 556, DG-56, and MCW.

We focus on balancing changes and bug fixes when resolving each patch, not content.
