Two men have been arrested following an investigation into the gangland murder of Sydney’s Mr Big Alen Moradian.

The cocaine baron, 48, was shot dead as he sat in his car in an underground car park in Bondi Junction at around 8.30am on Tuesday June 27.

Cops raided a waterfront property in Yowie Bay, Sutherland County, at 6 a.m. Wednesday, where they arrested Luke “Fat boy” Sparos for the alleged murder.

Moradian and Sparos were close associates, with the latter apparently attending Moradian’s funeral in July.

Police will allege that Sparos, 42, was the mastermind behind the murder of his former associate.

Alen Moradian (pictured), 48, was shot dead while sitting in his car in an underground car park in Bondi Junction at around 8.30am on Tuesday June 27.

At the same time as Sparos was being taken into custody at Sutherland police station, police arrested a 31-year-old man at a property in Moorebank, in Sydney’s southwest.

He was taken to Liverpool police station, where he is expected to be charged with murder.

Moradian, whose taste for the finer things in life led him to spend $1 million transforming a McMansion in Sydney’s northwest into a suburban palace, lived in fear in the months before his dead.

He regularly changed residences and cars to stay one step ahead of the hitmen, even staying away from his wife of 15 years to protect her.

But to those who knew him, Moradian was always instantly recognizable with a body covered in tattoos and a mouth full of gold teeth.

Police will claim Luke Sparos (pictured), 42, was the mastermind behind the murder of his former associate Alen Moradian.

The gangster, also known as “Fathead”, was hiding in a building in Bondi Junction, Sydney’s east, when two gunmen ambushed him in the building’s underground car park at around 8.30am on 27 June.

He was sitting in a black Audi RS4 rented from a car rental company in Sydney’s southwest when one of the gunmen fired up to seven bullets into his head and body.

Moradian’s wife Natasha told Daily Mail Australia that two detectives came to the couple’s home in Sydney’s northwest and warned them both of “imminent danger to him”.

“They told him to move to a secure residence and change his routines and habits,” Ms Moradian said.

“They stayed at our house for over an hour explaining how important it was. Alen left our house that night and did not return.

Moradian, who was released from prison in December 2017 after spending a decade behind bars for importing cocaine, remained on parole and took the threat seriously.
