StarCraft Remastered – Tips, Strategies and Build Orders for Terrans, Zerg and Protoss

StarCraft Remastered is the perfect opportunity for the newest generation of gamers to play one of the best RTS ever. However, if you are a novice in this genre, StarCraft can be a little difficult and complex for you. So we decided to put together some tips and build orders for each of the StarCraft Remastered races, in order to be able to build your base efficiently.

Build Order Terminology

Build orders are based on Terran supply, Protoss Psi and Zerg control. In the lists below, orders will be preceded by a series of numbers in X / Y format. X corresponds to the supply, psi or control used, while Y corresponds to the total available.

Best Build Orders for Terran

Terran vs Zerg Build – Double Barracks

  • 9/10 – Depot (investigate the surroundings after doing this)
  • 11/18 – Barracks
  • 13/18 – Barracks
  • 15/18 – Depot
  • Refinery
  • Depot

Notes: build marines until you run out of resources. When you are able to upgrade to the stimpack and purchase a scanner. Build Space Construction Vehicles until you have 21.

The following build order is a slight variant of the Double Barracks build, giving you the opportunity to attack:

Terran vs Zerg Build – Triple Barracks

  • 9/10 – Depot (investigate the surroundings after doing this)
  • 11/18 – Barracks
  • 13/18 – Barracks
  • 15/18 – Depot
  • Barracks
  • Refinery
  • Engineering Bay + Academy
  • +1 Attack

Terran Marine Rush Build – Terran vs Protoss / Zerg / Terran

  • 6/10 – Hides a depot.
  • 8/10 – Send 2x SCV to the center of the map and follow the usual paths.
  • 10/10 – Two barracks in the center of the map.
  • 10/18 – Build Marines in the barracks, and SCV in the Command Center.

Notes: this build aims to defeat the enemy before he can build powerful defenses.

Best Build Orders for the Zerg

Zerg Cerver 4 Pool Rush Build – Zerg Vs Protoss / Terran / Zerg

  • 4/9 (Start) – Spawning Pool
  • 3/9 – Drone (Set it to mine immediately)
  • 4/9 – 3 sets of Zerglings (Attacks immediately)
  • 7/9 -> 9/9 – Drones (undermine)
  • 9/9 – Overlord
  • 9/17 – Hatchery
  • 8/17 – 3 more sets of lings (defense)
  • 11/17 – Extractor (sends 2-3 Drones when complete)
  • 10/17 -> 13/17 – Drones
  • 13 / 17- Lair and produce Zerglings as needed.

Notes: This build order will allow you to rush the enemy and destroy your economy, or even defeat the enemy. Don’t use this build order if you don’t know where the enemy is.

Zerg 7 Pool Rush Build – Zerg Vs Zerg / Protoss / Terran

  • 7/9 – Spawning Pool
  • 7/9 – Overlord (investigates the area)
  • 8/9 – Use a Drone to investigate the area
  • 8/17 – 6 Zerglings
  • 11/17 – 2 Zerglings or a Drone

Notes: this strategy will allow you to rush early, but you will sacrifice your economy. If you are unable to do considerable damage early in the game, you will experience many difficulties as the game progresses.

Best Builds for Protoss

Protoss 9/10 Gate Zeal Rush Build – Protoss Vs Zerg / Protoss

Notes: strategy to rush as early as possible while maintaining some savings and allowing you to have zealots fast.

Protoss 10/12 Gate Zeal Build – Protoss Vs Zerg / Protoss

Notes: a simple strategy for Protoss, useful in different situations. It can be used to rush or to strengthen your location.

Keep in mind that there are numerous build orders and strategies, and we encourage you to try out your strategies, but these should help you get started.
