E3 2019 brought several interesting announcements, but it was not possible to remove that “flea behind the ear” and think about which titles could arrive in the next generation of consoles. In the case of Cyberpunk 2077, the directors have already confirmed that they are “watching” to see if it is worth taking the title to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Scarlett.

In an interview with GamerHubTV, level designer Miles Tost commented that the development is focused on the current generation and the PC, but the studio is already considering the next platforms. “We are watching and we’ll think ‘is it?’, but it’s not our area of interest at the moment, ”he said at the time.

“Of course we are looking at what is happening in the game industry because we are part of it, and we always need to look towards it. But at the same time, we are a studio that is really focused on the work that we are doing. So ours attention is on the current generation and on the PC. But who knows? When the time comes, maybe. But until then, we have something to do “, added the representative, citing once again the focus on the current release.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for April 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Tost also stressed that this is not a problem today, as the team will have a window of time to plan until the launch of the Xbox Scarlett – since the Microsoft itself left a forecast for Christmas 2020.

During E3 2019, Microsoft revealed many specifications and details for Project Scarlett — including that the console will support all Xbox One accessories. On Sony’s side, we still have a lot of buzz that the PS5 will be backwards compatible, but the company hasn’t officially presented the console yet.
