Developer Yager Development announces that Dead Island 2 has been postponed to 2016.

Dead Island 2 was announced at the E3 show last year. The game is the sequel to Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide. Unlike its predecessors, Dead Island 2 is set in the mainland of the United States.

“We thought about it for a long time and finally decided to postpone Dead Island 2. The game doesn’t meet all of our requirements at this point. We want to make sure Dead Island 2 is a worthy sequel that meets all of our your expectations, “Yager said in a statement on Twitter.

In the same statement, Yager said that the company initially planned to release Dead Island 2 this spring for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The developer is not yet giving a new release date for the game.
