A document with information about Destiny 2 has been leaked that states the planned release periods of the first two expansions. According to the letter, we can expect the first expansion in the winter of this year and the second at the beginning of next year.

Another day, another Destiny 2 leak. The game’s reveal period is full of holes and this time we learn a little more about the two expansions of the game that are already in the pipeline. According to a leaked document sent to retailers, we can expect the first expansion in the winter of this year and the second at the beginning of next year. Bungie hasn’t confirmed anything yet, so take this news with a grain of salt too.

This is not a very big surprise as the expansions from the first game followed the same pattern. So there is a good chance that, just like with Destiny, we can already expect the first expansion in December. This gives gamers three full months to explore everything in Destiny 2 before starting a new chapter. The second expansion is expected to be released in March 2018. The second expansion of the first game was originally planned to be released in March 2015, but it was eventually delayed to May.

We can also predict what the expansions will be about. In a small promotional image, two symbols, known to Destiny fans, can be seen that already give a hint to the content of the expansions. The first expansion is probably about Osiris, a legendary Warlock and creator of the PvP challenge Trials of Osiris. The second expansion teaches us more about Rasputin de Warmind, a powerful AI meant to protect humanity.

Destiny 2 will be released on PC, Xbox One and PS4 on September 8th. Bungie has already treated fans to a teaser and trailer that tell us a bit more about the sequel’s story. There will also be a beta this summer, and players who pre-order the game will get early access.
