Epic Games Store reveals the most popular titles in 2020
Epic games has released new data on its 2020 roundup, including the most popular games purchased and played on the platform during the year. Several of these aren’t very surprising, while others attracted more attention than some fans gave them credit for.
In general, the list of Epic Games Store it spans various genres and covers many different bases in terms of playing styles for players. There are ten main games of the year that stand out from the rest.
The top ten most played games on the Epic Games Store in 2020 were: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Satisfactory, Fortnite, Snow Runner, Godfall, Borderlands 3, Rocket League, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Grand Theft Auto 5, and Rogue Company. While some of these games were new for 2020, several of them were simply given a new life. Rocket League got new events, Fortnite released new character skins, and Grand Theft Auto 5 continued to remind players of what made the franchise so popular in the first place.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
It is one of the best games not surprising in the least. The newest entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise sees players scouring the English countryside in search of treasures, powerful weapons such as Odin’s mythical spear, Gungnir, and towns to conquer. This game was a contender for Game of the Year, so it’s only enough to take its place at the top of Epic Games’ list.
The ever-growing titan of Battle Royale, it’s another obvious choice. The building, shooting and party game seems to be still going strong after all these years. There was recently a new season added to Fortnite, which remains fresh and fun for players new and old. Dozens of licensed characters, including Deadpool, John Wick, and Kylo Ren, allow players to enjoy the game as seriously or as silly as they wish.
He remained as popular as ever in his second year of life. There were several DLC updates for the game that brought new content and abilities to keep players coming back. There was a season two pass that started in the fall, but players are already wondering if there will be a season three pass for Borderlands 3 to keep the game going longer.
It is certain that in 2021 many of these games will continue to be as popular as they were last year. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is showing small signs of slowing down anytime soon, while games like Fortnite, Rocket League, and Borderlands 3 will likely continue to have a large fanbase into the new year. With many new games scheduled to release in the coming months, it will be very interesting to see what the next roster looks like for Epic Games.
