If you want to get the most out of FIFA 18, you can take a look at our other guides. In this we offer you a list of the 50 best FIFA 18 players, with their positions and statistics. We also have the list of Promises in which we tell how the Promises work; FUT 18 Hybrid Cards Listed and Explained, and the Hottest Young Prospects, Most Potential Young Players and Hidden Gems. On top of that, we’ve got a guide explaining the important Chemistry Styles modifiers and how best to use them, as well as how Chemistry works in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team and how to get the most out of it.
Other things you should know about promising youngsters and high-potential players in FIFA 18
Based on the information above, there are a couple of things to keep in mind when looking for your next great talent:
- Of all the players with a Score of more than 85, Tottenham’s Marcus Edwards has the most potential for improvement. The 18-year-old Spurs player starts at just 65 in FIFA 18, which means he can improve by 22 points overall. In your Career Mode it will be one of the best long-term options, and it will also be available for little money if you are lucky.
- One of the stars of this section last year, Reece Oxford (who could improve 20 points in total) disappears from this year’s list.
- Remember that age is an important factor. Being young, lower-scoring players like Edwards can come out for a better price, but if you’re not going to last five or six seasons in Career Mode, you won’t see the true potential of your 17-year-olds, so an established player can be a best option in this case.
- For longer games, we recommend players starting with a Score around 60 to lower the cost. People like Edwards, Han Kwang Song (Perugia), Christian Früchtl (Bayern), Dayot Upamecano (Lepizig) or Vincent Thill (Metz) are good options.
- For immediate success (aside from the players you’ll find on our FIFA 18 Top 50 Players list) look to Anthony Martial, Dele Alli, Marco Asensio and Thomas Lemar, who have Scores of 82, 84, 84 and 83 respectively and can provide the right push for any club right away.
- Don’t automatically go after the highest scoring players. Although they are great if you have the money, it may be better to do some research on smaller, money-hungry clubs than trying to take players away from the bigger clubs. Do you really need to take Kylian Mbappé away from PSG the same year he joined, when you can sign Ezequiel Barco or Kasper Dolberg?
- Be flexible with your positions. This is general advice for all of FIFA 18 (and veterans will remember the days when certain players abused the rhythm by filling the team with sprinters regardless of their position) but don’t forget that players can usually be integrated into more than one position on the team. Marcus Rashford can play left and center, so he can be a good addition to your FIFA 18 squad.
