Fortnite: Ragnarök and Drift – So you can unlock the skins
In a game trimmed for individuality like Fortnite are Skins the ideal way to show other players who you are and what makes you tick at a glance. However, by no means all outfits can be bought in the in-game shop or activated regularly with the Batte Pass – some are subject to very special conditions. Ragnarök and Drift are such skins.
Okay, admittedly: You will initially also unlock these regularly by climbing the level ladder of your Battle Pass. This only gives you access to the basic version of the outfits; further upgrades and styles hide behind additional challenges.
This progressive unlocking mechanism is not new per se. The way they are in Season 5 works, but it does. Instead of just reaching a prescribed season level as in the past, this time it is important to collect a certain amount of experience points. You no longer have to achieve these goals within the current season, but have an unlimited amount of time to do so. The chargeable Battle Pass is of course required for activation.
But who or what are Drift and Ragnarök anyway? Basically, these are the two figureheads of the new season. If you’ve only seen a teaser, a trailer or another promotional image from the fifth season, you can almost certainly assume that you have already spotted one or even both skins. Drift is the sprayer with the Kitsune mask, which was shown on the first teaser image published by developer Epic Games a few days before the start of Season 5. Ragnarök, on the other hand, is the martial-looking guy with the bone mask.
On the left you can see the basic version of the drift skin, on the right the fully equipped Ragnarök outfit.
Fortnite: Drift Skin Challenges
You will receive the basic version of the Drift Skin as soon as you have bought the Season 5 Battle Pass. After just four completed missions there is also the casual epic pickaxe “Rift Blade“. In order to be able to swing these, you have to collect a decent chunk of EP beforehand. You get experience points for almost all actions. The simple and unsurprising rule of thumb is therefore: the better you play, the more EP you get.
The following goals await you:
- Earn 10,000 XP
- Earn 25,000 XP
- Earn 50,000 XP
- Earn 100,000 XP
- Earn 200,000 XP
With each completed task, you will receive an additional style. So it’s worth sticking with it. But don’t expect to have unlocked the entire skin within a few rounds. The whole thing is rather a lengthy affair that you should rather do on the side.
You can unlock the final drift version a little faster. The number will certainly not be a walk in the park.

If you already thought that all drift variants would be difficult to unlock, we have bad news for you: Ragnarök is going one better. For its final form you have to farm two and a half times as many experience points. But the effort is worth it: every player who sees you rushing over the map in this outfit knows immediately what you have done for it.
Even playing the basic skin version is preceded by a number of hours of play. You will only receive these when you reach level 100 of the Battle Pass. And then of course there are the additional challenges that you can use to unlock new styles – including an epic pickaxe skin.
- Earn 35,000 XP
- Earn 75,000 XP
- Earn 125,000 XP
- Earn 250,000 XP
- Earn 500,000 XP
You don’t have any plans for the next four and a half months? Well then you can try to unlock all styles of the Ragnarök skin in Fortnite.
At Ragnarök, the following applies even more: bring patience. You don’t collect this amount of experience points during your lunch break. It is better to take a look at your progress from time to time and be happy every time you reach a new milestone.
