Fortnite: three pro players discovered cheating during the FNCS finals, the team fires them

The finals of the event FNCS of Fortnite have brought a series of controversies. During the grand final, three players in Duo mode, all from the same team, were accused of collaborating with each other to ensure a better finish for one of the pairs. While Epic didn’t cancel player placements, the organization fired them.

Ruben, Drew, and Fayde, all of Fortnite’s Talon team, were participating in the NA-West console division of the FNCS in two different games in Duo mode. According to “paul1x”, who ended up winning the event, the three players intentionally dropped into the same area so that Ruben and Drew could get more points.

After winning, the player shared a series of screenshots on Twitter showing Fayde and Drew discussing their planned match. After the couples agreed to leave a location on the map, Ruben wrote “don’t make it seem so obvious”, as it was the final game of the different games. According to the official rules of competitive Fortnite matches, “players cannot work together to deceive or cheat their opponents”.

“We do not forgive the actions these players have taken and we do not tolerate them,” Talon management said in a statement on April 21. “We apologize for their actions and for those they may have influenced.”
