Ghost of Tsushima is getting co-op multiplayer

Ghost of Tsushima will get a co-op multiplayer mode this fall. The mode is called Ghost of Tsushima: Legends and includes several new missions for groups of two to four players. You can play these missions with friends and strangers through online matchmaking.

According to Sucker Punch employee Darren Bridges, the multiplayer mode is completely separate from the single player story. So you don’t play as Jin and his companions, but as four legendary heroes about which stories circulate on Tsushima.

Those heroes also form four different classes: the Samurai, Hunter, Ronin and Assassin. Each class is given different unique benefits and abilities. The developer will reveal more about that soon.

Groups of two players can play different story missions. They contain ‘supernatural twists for which cooperation with your partner is essential’.

Groups of four players get access to wave-based survival missions, in which you fight Oni with supernatural powers, among other things. With four players you can also try out the first Ghost of Tsushima raid. It will be released shortly after the launch of the co-op multiplayer.

An exact release date has not yet been set for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends. While waiting you can read on the site Maartens Ghost of Tsushima review.
