Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Pragmata for PS5: Digital Foundry analyzes ray tracing in next-gen games

As you know by now, PS5 will use the ray tracing in its next gen titles and the technology has been implemented in some of the games we saw during the reveal event of Sony.

Now, the interesting analysis of Digital Foundry shows us how the developers used ray tracing in Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is Pragmatic.

Starting from the game of Polyphony, the British editorial team explains that in Gran Turismo 7 the technology is used for reflections on the bodywork, on the windows and everything seems quite fluid despite the number of cars on the track.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, considered by many to be the only “truly next-gen” game, has amazed fans especially with how it will exploit the PS5 SSD, but the game will also make use of ray tracing, as evidenced by DF. In this case, we see the technology on most of the surfaces and on the characters.

Finally Pragmata. In this case, the effects of technology can be found in several parts. DF takes as an example the eyes of the girl met by the protagonist or the puddles present in some environments.

In related news, we found that Gran Turismo 7 will make use of almost all of the new PS5 technologies.
