[HOT] : DDR5 memory will become the majority from 2023

DDR5 memory should start making an appearance at the end of 2021 but it is from 2023 that it will become the majority against DDR4.
Memory specification DDR5 has been validated by JEDEC and the module manufacturers have started production while those of the strips are finalizing and certifying products which will be launched in the second half of the year.
Doubling the bandwidth while consuming less energy thanks to a voltage reduced to 1.1 V, DDR5 will advantageously replace the current DDR4 first in professional systems and then more widely in consumer equipment.
According to estimates, adoption will be more widely in 2022 but it is in 2023 that DDR5 should supplant DDR4 and become the majority, according to an estimate by Yole Développement. By 2026, DDR5 memory is expected to occupy more than 95% of the market.
The strong push in 2022 should play out in servers while 2023 will be the time for adoption in the mainstream market. The rapid pace is coupled with very high demand which could drive the DDR memory market to record highs of $ 120 billion, and $ 200 billion by 2026.
