How to use PS4 and Xbox One controls to play on iPhone

With the increased support that Apple devices are promising to become a gaming platform, new operating system updates arrive with several interesting new features. The latest update, iOS 13, now available to everyone, features extensive connectivity via Bluetooth, pairing with the most diverse peripherals and allowing for full compatibility.

The function comes to help both those who are in the habit of playing the native alternatives of the device itself and those who use the device as a PS4 Remote Play or Steam Link reflector.

PS4 DualShock

  • Activate Bluetooth in the option just below the Settings menu on your device.
  • Hold both the Share and Playstation buttons on the controller until the rear light starts to flash.
  • The PS4 controller should now be shown in the list of devices synced by iOS.
  • Your DualShock 4 is now ready for use.
  • Xbox one

  • Activate Bluetooth in the option just below the Settings menu on your device.
  • Hold the sync button until the Xbox device light starts to flash.
  • The Xbox One controller should now be shown in the list of devices synced by iOS.
  • Your controller is now ready to be used.
  • It is worth remembering that not all Xbox devices are synchronizable, only models of Xbox One S and above are recognized by the pairing of the cell phone.

    The process is possible to be performed on iPhone, iPad and Apple TV, as long as all are supported by the new update.
