In 2019, Fortnite was no longer the most popular Twitch
There have been many changes to the list of most watched games this year as well, thanks in part to last year’s cannon dropout.
Thanks to the State of the Stream 2019 report, we can already see how Twitch.tv’s 2019 year turned out. One of the biggest falls was produced by PlayerUnkown’s Battlegrounds, which produced 416 million watches in 2018, and this year it failed to reach 217 million at Hearthstone, dropping it off the list of the 10 most watched games.
In contrast, Grand Theft Auto V brought in multiples of last year’s numbers and finished among the top four in 2019, thanks in large part to the popularity of GTA RPG broadcasts.
Meanwhile, the old king, the League of Legends, also regained his throne: the number of watches watched by Fortnite fell from 1.2 billion to 884 million, and the number of watches by the LoL rose from 929 million to 990 million. The latter was probably also due to the success of Teamfight Tactics game mode.
