The epoch-making debate and campaigning for the Alliance High Elves may finally come to an end. Everyone can make the elf they want.
One of the major innovations in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands is the plethora of character customization options. The old races are given countless new hair styles, skin colors, eye colors, tattoos and other extras to help us truly create the Azeroth hero of our dreams. The new options, however, sparked an old-new debate over the Void and Blood Elf species.
There are currently two types of High Elf descendants in the world of WoW: the green / gold-eyed and light-skinned Blood Elves, who belong to the Horde, and the bluish-purple-skinned, blue-eyed Void Elves, who are members of the Alliance. The players ’problem with this was that High Elf still can’t be done because their light skin and blue eyes can’t be brought together.
A few weeks ago, a blue eye option popped up at Blood Elves that knocked out the fuse: plenty of fans were outraged that virtually only the barrels could make High Elf characters that way. Back then, the developers said that the blue eye is actually only available to NPCs. The hysteria ended then, but Blizzard doesn’t seem to have left it at that.
It has been announced that not only will there be blue eyes for the Blood Elves, but there will also be light skin for the Void Elves, opening the gate to the actually customizable elves, regardless of their faction.
On the one hand, this was a very good decision on the part of Blizzard, because it really gives every fan what they want, and on the other hand, we would still be happy with blue face paintings or skin colors that turn purple along the limbs. The developers have promised that we will get a myriad of new character options throughout Shadowlands ’entire cycle, so it could easily be the case over time. Until then, we will be completely satisfied with the above as well.
