iPhone X compared to iPhone X Plus and 6.1-inch iPhone
A video was released earlier this week showing the new 6.1-inch iPhone and 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus. They are plastic mockups, but we expect that the design will not differ from the iPhones that will be announced next month. The 5.8-inch iPhone X was the only device that was missing, which at the same time made it difficult to estimate the size of the phone. Phone lover Ben Geskin changes this today with an image showing the iPhone X, iPhone X Plus and 6.1-inch iPhone side by side.
Three new iPhones
The new 5.8-inch iPhone X seems to be a copy of the current model. At the rear we find a dual camera, while the notch with the TrueDepth camera system has also remained unchanged. We suspect that Apple will provide the device with a faster processor, improved cameras and a modem from Intel. We also see that the affordable 6.1-inch iPhone is a fraction larger and has a single camera. All three devices have a screen with thin bezels and a notch for the TrueDepth camera system.
Apple will only equip the iPhone X and iPhone X Plus with an OLED screen, while the 6.1-inch model will use an LCD screen to keep production costs low. It is still unclear what the new iPhones will cost, but contrary to previous rumors, we do not expect a price reduction for the iPhone X. Apple has announced that the iPhone X is the most popular option among consumers. The cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone will probably cost around 800 or 900 in the Netherlands, while we expect the iPhone X Plus to have a suggested retail price of around 1300 euros.
The trio will be announced in September at Apple’s annual event. It is expected that new Apple Watch models, MacBooks and AirPods will also be presented at this event. These new products are usually in the shops a few weeks later.
