Mario Kart: The Three Best Rainbow Road Tracks

Mario Kart: The Three Best Rainbow Road Tracks

All Mario Kart players are familiar with the Rainbow Road: since the first game in the series on Super Nintendo, it has traditionally been the last track of the game’s last cup.

Located in space, this course generally has few or no protective barriers, which makes it particularly tricky even if it is often among the favorite circuits of players.

Eleven different Rainbow Routes exist to date, one for each of the eight main games, plus the two retro versions of the very first one in Mario Kart 7 and Mario Kart 8, as well as the retro version of the one in Mario Kart 64 in Mario Kart 8.

1. Mario Kart 7’s Rainbow Road

This is arguably the best Rainbow Road in any Mario Kart game. This three-section layout incorporates many aerial passages, one of the novelties of Mario Kart 7: we even end up having to cross an asteroid field just before the finish line! Not without having previously rolled on undulating roads and on the rings of a planet, explored craters and a kaleidoscopic tunnel, or bounced on a stellar mushroom. A race as varied as it is pretty, which hasn’t aged a bit.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe therefore includes three of the eleven Rainbow Road tracks to date, but others could be added thanks to the extension. Here is the list of the three best Rainbow Routes, which we hope to see again soon.

2. Mario Kart Super Circuit Rainbow Road

The route of the Rainbow Road in Mario Kart Super Circuit is very winding: hairpin bends, switchbacks… It is better to control your kart well to avoid ending up in a vacuum, especially since the edges of the track are a bit special. Indeed, the circuit is almost entirely lined with springboards! If it seems dangerous at first sight, it is also an excellent way to cut certain turns with mastery. Even if it is quite difficult to imagine how the circuit could be adapted in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, this new approach would delight kart virtuosos.

Peach and Bowser settle an old score in the latest Mario Kart Tour update

Seems like a good way for our favorite princess to get her revenge on Bowser, who spent much of his life trying to kidnap the poor woman; she just wants to bake cakes for Mario, for God‘s sake!

Sure, Bowser can get away with it and win the victory he’s always dreamed of; the future will tell. Nintendo introduced the team members peach and the team Bowser in a few posts on Twitter, so you have plenty of time to decide which side you want to join before the Tour kicks off.

In the meantime, the Doctor Tour is still live, along with the Coconut Mall course, which debuted in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Booster Course Pass.
