Mortal Kombat 9 is officially removed from Steam
Mortal Kombat 9 his days are numbered. During the last weekend, several pages and players reported mysterious events involving the game, indicating that its useful period may be ending.
According to the VG247 team, Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition, had its official page on Steam disabled, meaning that the title will no longer be available for purchases. Still with unconfirmed official reasons, the only information passed on by the team of the digital platform of the PC was that the game withdrew for reasons of “requirement of the Publisher”.
Despite the confidentiality, several fans are speculating that the cause of the exclusion was image rights involving the character Freddy Krueger, included in the definitive version of the game, since in 2019 Wes Craven’s company regained the rights to the antagonist and his cinematographic productions.

MK9 also had its servers disabled in the Playstation 3, although it is still available for purchase at the Sony digital store. In the case of Xbox 360, the title is unavailable in the digital catalog and it is not known if it will return one day to be purchased through Microsoft or Steam platforms.
Released in 2011 for the previous generation of consoles, Mortal Kombat 9 was a total sales and audience success, bringing the game to a reality of movement, graphic violence and, above all, history never seen before. With several features such as 3D support, a wide variety of environments and fighters, lots of extra DLC content and, later, in the definitive version, it established itself as one of the most beloved games in the franchise.
Mortal Kombat 9 also served to embody the series, which won two excellent games in 2015 and 2019, in addition to a film scheduled for this year.
