New information about iPhone X (Plus) and 6.1-inch iPhone

New information about iPhone X (Plus) and 6.1-inch iPhone

Production of the next generations of iPhones will start in August, according to a report from investment company Rosenblatt Securities. Apple is expected to introduce three new models in the second half of the year: a 5.8-inch iPhone X (2018), a 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus (2018), and a cheaper 6.1-inch with LCD display. According to Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang, the price of the LCD version will be $ 200 cheaper than the iPhone X.

Three new iPhones

An estimated 60 million LCD models are produced, which is more than the iPhone X series combined; 28 million copies of the 5.8-inch iPhone X and 22 million copies of the iPhone X Plus. While the report differs from other sources in some respects, it basically agrees with several analysts’ views on what Apple will reveal this fall.

“We believe the LCD model will be priced more aggressively – around $ 799,” the report said, suggesting that it could convince iPhone 6 and 6s users to upgrade to the iPhone 8s, which was announced by Rosenblatt is described as the ‘Jaguar’. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently stated that the 6.1-inch iPhone with LCD screen could cost between $ 550 and $ 650, while a dual sim variant could offer between $ 700 and $ 800 .

The lower price compared to iPhone X is due to a number of cost-cutting measures. The 6.1-inch LCD screen alone would be 50 dollars cheaper than the OLED screen of the iPhone X series. In addition, the housing would be made of aluminum, which means that there is no support for wireless charging. Furthermore, the cheaper model would have to do with a single camera and Force Touch would have been dropped entirely.

Rosenblatt analyst Jun Zhang expects the 6.1-inch iPhone to have a notch at the top, as well as a small bezel at the bottom. A bezel on the bottom would help simplify production by working within the limitations of LCD screen technology.

iPhone X Plus with 6.5-inch OLED screen

The iPhone X (2018) ‘Porsche’ will reportedly be equipped with a 5.8-inch OLED screen and in terms of design hardly differ from the existing model. The iPhone X Plus ‘Rolls-Royce’ gets a larger 6.5-inch OLED screen and a higher price tag. The device will also support the ‘iPen’, which is probably a reference to the Apple Pencil, although the accessory will not be included as standard. The larger model would also get a dual sim variant for the Chinese market.

The new iPhones would also benefit from second-generation 3D modules that consume less energy and enable new application functions. In addition, Apple would work on increased water resistance. The new models could soon be submerged up to 10 meters.
