The PlayStation 5 was released in the Netherlands on November 19, 2020, but unfortunately many people are still waiting for a console. There is still great uncertainty as to when the stock problems will be resolved, but the shortages are expected to continue at least until the summer. That does not mean that you have no chance in the meantime, because this month there is still a lot to be done.

Update 25/01 (12:34) → According to Patrick Mous, 7000 PlayStation 5 consoles are also on their way to the Netherlands and Belgium, including 2000 copies (disk) for Bol.com. These could come online in week 4, although some retailers are still shipping pre-orders. If the information about Bol.com is correct, then there is a good chance that a single sale will follow.

Update 01/25 → Amazon UK has again offered the Disk and Digital Edition today. These were again sold out very quickly and high import duties were also charged due to Brexit. The Digital Edition, for example, was € 120 more expensive. It is still unclear whether Amazon Netherlands, Amazon Germany, Amazon France, Amazon Spain and Amazon Italy will also follow today.

Update 20/01 → As expected, Bol.com has started adding orders to the order overview of customers who received a cancellation on December 4, but later registered for the reservation list. The release date is currently set at December 31, 2021, which suggests that there is currently no stock to ship.

Last week, NedGame shipped out some PS5 Digital Edition consoles again, while Game Mania reached out to people who pre-ordered one of their stores for delivery later this month. A user in the PS5 Chat channel named Patrick Mous claims to have a source within Sony Supply Chain Solutions. The information he published last week matches what was later offered by web shops, so we have no reason to doubt his claims for the time being.

The source writes that Game Mania has received 1200 consoles (1000 Disk and 200 Digital Edition), 175 Digital Edition consoles for NedGame and 300 DE consoles for Bol.com. However, Bol.com’s consoles have not yet been delivered.

In addition, 7,000 PS5 consoles are said to have been sent to Amazon Italy this week. Some of this will probably also be delivered to Amazon Italy, where you can also order as a Dutch person. Sony Spain will receive a shipment of 3000 copies on January 22, which will be distributed among the various shops. It is likely that Amazon Spain will also receive a small supply.
