Panasonic Updates Technics True Wireless S500W, S300W and AZ70W Headphones with Fuller Ambient Sound Mode

The last summer Panasonic put on sale an interesting range of wireless headphones formed by the True Wireless S500W and S300W models that were also complemented by the AZ70W under the Technics signature, three devices that have now received a firmware update that adds some interesting improvements.

The new firmware versions are JMS1ZS 01.80 for the RZ-S500W, JMS1ZR 01.31 for the RZ-S300W and JMS1ZS 01.80 for the Technics EAH-AZ70W and basically the behavior of the “Ambient Mode” function and the flashing LED when using Bluetooth, which can now be turned off.

New ambient mode

Thanks to the update, the new ambient sound mode it now allows you to capture a wider range of external sounds and is able to reproduce a “more natural” sound. Now the headphones can capture a wider range of frequencies, achieving a more integrated sound mix of music and the sounds of the environment to offer a better experience.

As we can see in the images, before the ambient sound was much more focused on the voices of the environment, capturing a range of frequencies around the 1000 Hz. Now ambient sound mode captures a wider range leading to a more natural sound similar to that normally perceived when headphones are not used.

As well the amount of white noise has been reduced when using the ambient sound mode in a quiet environment. The noise reduction rate compared to the previous one is 25% for the Panasonic RZ-S500W, 50% for the RZ-S300W and 5% for the Technics EAH-AZ70W.

As for the Bluetooth flashing LED light, now can be deactivated while we use them, although the LEDs will continue to flash when initially paired with a smartphone and when a call is received.

If you have one of these headphones, you can already look for the update and follow the instructions that the manufacturer proposes on its website.
