He sacrificed himself during a school shooting, and Lucasfilm wanted to commemorate him.
In April this year, a young man, Trystan Andrew Terrell, broke into a classroom at the University of Charlotte in North Carolina, killing two people and injuring four. One of the deceased was 21-year-old Riley Howell, who threw himself at the gunman and received three hits, one of which hit his head, in which he died instantly. He saved his comrades with his heroic deed.
He was known to be a big Star Wars fan, and Lucasfilm wanted to honor that by visiting the family and then making Riley a part of the universe forever with a new book published in connection with the age of Skywalker. This book features Jedi Master and historian Ri-Lee Howell, who recorded his experience and information about the Force in two volumes of Aionomica. Riley’s girlfriend and the girl’s father are both grateful for the opportunity, they feel the commemoration fits the guy perfectly.
