Path of Exile launches on Steam in late October
The free-to-play action RPG Path of Exile launches October 23. That makes developer Grind Gear Games known. The open beta has been running since January. With the release of version 1.0, the game is available for the first time on Steam.
Path of Exile is an RPG in the style of Diablo and Torchlight, with a strong focus on building your skill tree and finding gems for your equipment. In the Path of Exile preview at SamaGame Benelux you will find more information about those systems.
The official release comes with the addition of the Scion class, which you can only get started after completing the game once. There are also six new areas, including The Library and the Scepter of God. Here you will find bosses who close the story so far. The open beta didn’t really end all this time, so version 1.0 did.
The game is free to download and play, with the option to purchase rare gems and other equipment through an additional in-game shop.
