Phil Spencer: ‘Xbox Game Pass is not coming to competing platforms’
Xbox CEO Phil Spencer says in an interview that Xbox Game Pass does not come to competing platforms. The company cannot offer the same experience there that it considers to be of paramount importance.
According to Spencer, Sony and Nintendo are not interested in offering the Xbox Game Pass and the accompanying Xbox experience on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. According to him, that ‘Xbox experience’ also includes the community, achievements, Game Pass and the first-party exclusives.
It seems logical to us that the service will not come to competing platforms. The Xbox Game Pass would only undermine the services of the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch. In other Xbox news, you’ll discover that all Xbox Game Studios games will continue to be cross-gen for the next few years and that Microsoft will stop production of the Xbox One X and the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition.
