When CD Projekt RED announced for the first time that Cyberpunk 2077 it would be mostly first person (with the exception of driving and photo mode). Many fans were upset to see that their created characters would go into hiding during their adventures. For those hoping for a switchable third-person mode, that’s not really a thing. But there is a Cyberpunk 2077 mod that allows you to leave that first-person point of view behind.
He Mod Corner This week’s features a mod that I’ve been asked about immensely since the last mod recommendation of Cyberpunk 2077. However, before we dive into that, it’s important to remember that this is for PC gamers only and that the base game still has large-scale bug and crash issues (although several massive patches have vastly improved the experience from the raw game. launching). Knowing that, I recommend backing up all saved files before attempting any modifications, no matter how big or small. Bugs happen randomly and mods alter the intended mechanics of any game, meaning corrupted save files are always a hazard.
Here we leave you the LINK so you can see the video of the mod.
To use this mod in third person of Cyberpunk 2077, you will need to install a program called Cyber Engine Tweaks, which you can find here at Nexus Mods. This is required for various mods on the site currently and will give players the ability to tweak the console menu in addition to some glitch controls.
Once downloaded, you can download Jelle Bakker’s third person mod called JB – TPP WIP Third Person. As the name suggests, this mod is currently in its early stages, which means that feedback helps make it even better. Once installed, it is quite easy to get it up and running:
- 1: Launch Cyberpunk 2077
- 2: wait for the game to load, save
- 4: press B
There are currently four different camera views with this mod, so have fun with it and see what works best for you. After trying it myself, it’s a pretty decent way to get that desired third person mode, but after using it? I appreciate the first-person decision even more. The team did a great job with how some of the bows felt head-to-head and that takes off a bit when it transforms into a third-person experience. Still, each one has their own and you may feel different! If so, you can download the free mod here to start getting your V.
