You’re probably slumped on the couch playing Spider-Man, but for everyone who doesn’t or takes a break from it, here is the Weekend Watch! Today the news that Pokémon Let’s Go does not support cloud saves!
Good afternoon! I hope you enjoy your weekend and that I can keep you informed with my first Weekend Watch while you are probably swinging through New York with that crazy spider!
Cloud saves Nintendo Switch Online not compatible with some major titles
The postponed Nintendo Direct from earlier this week, despite the good reason for the delay, seems to have done a lot of PR damage. GameInformer has looked very closely at the Nintendo website and found out which titles exactly do not support the cloud save function of the paid Nintendo Switch Online service, which will go live later this month. Hold on:
Splatoon 2, Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu & Eevee, Dark Souls Remastered, Dead Cells, FIFA 19 and NBA 2K19 are not compatible with the Switch’s cloud saves feature. So is your Nintendo Switch going to break? Then you can start over in these games, while several of these games have these functions on other platforms. It’s a worrying phenomenon that developers can simply choose what happens to your save data, especially in the case of broken Nintendo Switches. Nintendo has stated in a response that these games are not compatible with the cloud save function because otherwise you can tamper with your saves for in-game items. Undoubtedly to be continued …
Criterion makes Battlefield 5 Battle Royale
If you were hoping that Criterion was finally doing Burnout again, you seem to have to wait even longer. This is good news for everyone who is waiting for Battlefield 5, because Criterion appears to be responsible for the battle royale mode of Battlefield 5, called Firestorm. Since there will also be a lot of vehicles in Battlefield 5’s battle royale mode, the Guard is very curious if there are takedowns in it.
Overwatch next month in the Humble Bundle
It may sound familiar to many PC gamers, but there is probably no better time for first-person shooter players to subscribe to the service. If you sign up for the Humble Bundle now, you’ll get Overwatch next month! If you keep your subscription in November and December, you even get a number of free loot boxes. We can be difficult about those loot boxes, but for free they suddenly become a lot more interesting. This month you got Little Nightmares and Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition ‘free’ with the Humble Bundle service.
GTA 5, Horizon and Rainbow Six Siege best-selling PSN titles in August
You have games that stick around for a long time and you have games that simply never seem to leave the ‘top of the charts’ again. Rainbow Six Siege and especially GTA 5 appear to have that momentum, as those are two of the best-selling games on the PlayStation Store in August. The Dutch Horizon: Zero Dawn can also join this illustrious list. In the United States, Madden NFL 19 was the best-selling game, while games such as Minecraft and Rocket League also scored high in both regions.
Intro video Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is frustrating and nostalgic at the same time
Anyone who played the first Black Ops will probably remember the introduction video in which the screen moved in all directions. The Guard thought it was excruciatingly annoying to watch every day, but it didn’t stop me from no-lifting that game heavily. In Black Ops 4, Treyarch thought it would be fun to give everyone an annoying start screen again and so they did it again.
Mega Man 11 demo available for download now on Switch, PS4 and Xbox One
Mega Man is back! Not only will we see it in Super Smash Bros. at the end of this year. Ultimate, several collections of its old games have also been released this year and we will have to deal with Mega Man 11 later this year! To get in the mood, you can now download a demo of the game on all platforms. Since Mega Man 11 can be quite hardcore, Capcom has three levels of difficulty for this demo, so you can enjoy the demo anyway. The full game will be released on October 2 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead will get closed beta in October
This game should have been released in 2016, but now the time has come. Overkill’s The Walking Dead will be released for PC on November 6, but the developer still wants to test everything before they actually release the game. That’s why you can join the closed beta from October 9, provided you’ve pre-ordered the game on Steam or on the game’s official website. With a pre-order of the standard edition you get one key, with the Deluxe Edition no less than four! In the livestream below you will learn more about the beta and you will also see a lot of great gameplay!
Sid Meier’s Civilization 6 is coming to Nintendo Switch this year
Last Thursday there was supposed to be a Nintendo Direct, of course, but due to all the natural forces in Japan, the Direct has been postponed as you could read in this Weekend Watch. However, third-party publishers have not withheld their press releases, as it was announced yesterday that Civilization 6 is coming to the Nintendo Switch. You don’t have to wait long for it either, because on November 16 you can already check this game on the Switch. So if Pokémon Let’s Go isn’t for you, then you still have a very good reason to run to the shops on November 16!
That was it for today! Tomorrow you will get a fresh weekend watch and I will play games with my legs up on the box. Until the next!
