Via a glitch in Red Dead Redemption 2 you can cross the border into Mexico. A YouTuber discovered the bug and crossed the line, only to find out that there’s really nothing to do on the other side. He did, of course, share his border hop adventure on YouTube.
Ready for a return to Mexico? In the first Red Dead Redemption, it was part of the story to cross the border into Central America, but Mexico is not part of the Red Dead Redemption 2 storyline. Due to a glitch you can still ‘border hopping’ to Mexico after you have finished the story. YouTuber ZacCoxTV shows how the glitch works below:
To get to Mexico you have to get as far west as possible from New Austin and cross the San Luis River there. Then you have to perform a certain action to climb over a wall via your horse.
If you have made the crossing and are walking around Mexico, there is actually very little you can do. You can only enter one building and there are no other items to be found. Your horse is also completely useless in the area. Whether the country in Latin America will ever become part of a possible Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC or Red Dead Online is not yet known.
