Red Dead Redemption 2 contains, in addition to your own gang, a lot of other clans that don’t get along nicely. The O’Driscoll gang is one of them and it is led by the Irishman Colm O’Driscoll. In real life there is also an Irish Colm O’Driscoll and he is now trolled a lot on social media.

Colm O’Driscoll from Ireland is getting hit on Twitter. The poor man has become entangled in the Red Dead Redemption 2 madness without being asked, as players send him a lot of nasty messages on Twitter. In Red Dead Redemption 2, the fictional Colm O’Driscoll is the leader of an enemy gang that bears his family name.

The van der Linde gang has had to stick with the trigger-happy Irish right from the start of the story, when Arthur explores the world he even ends up in an ambush by the O’Driscolls every now and then. The real Colm O’Driscoll is the victim of this story choice, as Red Dead players are now harassing him on Twitter and Instagram. Because gamers will be gamers …

Because of the spoilery nature of some messages, you can read them via SamaGame, with which the real Colm O’Driscoll has also been able to speak. Colm has told SamaGame that he also understands that this is a strong example of trolling, although he is a little concerned about the nature of all the messages:

A little part of me worries that some of these people are so emotionally invested in the game that they’re starting to lose perception of what’s real and what isn’t.

If you have been given ideas now; O’Driscoll will now block every incoming message on Instagram. So if another O’Driscoll shoots you in front of your bucket while you just hunted, hit a punch bag or something. This poor man can’t help but have the last name of a fictional Irish bully.
