[REVIEW] : Messenger: it is now possible to send 30-minute voice messages

Facebook’s Messenger app introduces new features. Previously, users could send a voice recording of up to one minute. The company has decided to extend this duration to 30 minutes.

Also, users will be able to listen to and send any voice message before sending it. Finally, an option will allow you to delete or cancel the recording.

From 15 to 30 minutes of recording

While WhatsApp allows its users to send up to 15 minutes of voice messages, Messenger limits the maximum length to one minute. But recently, a new update to Meta’s messaging service changes the situation.

Indeed, the Facebook company announced that it would extend the duration of voice messages sent to 30 minutes. But not only.

Editing vocals will be easier

On Messenger, Meta has also added new commands for recording voice messages. The user will now be able to stop, review, and then resume their recording. In other words, it will be possible to preview or pause a message before sending it. Also, during this manipulation, it will not be necessary to delete the content and download it again.

Voice messages will appear as a soundbar. The delete and send buttons will be under this famous bar. Pause and resume recording commands will appear respectively on the left and right sides of the voice message representation.

Vanish mode redesigned

Vanish Mode is a messaging mode that vanishes once the message is viewed. In the wake of these new features, Meta has also redesigned this mode and offers a new feature.

Now, messages sent in this mode will disappear after being seen by the recipient. Enabling this mode is done by opening an existing chat thread on a mobile device and dragging the slider up. To return to normal chat mode, simply swipe the slider up again.

WhatsApp: listening to audio messages in other conversations in deployment

WhatsApp offers to listen to voices in other conversations A month ago, we let you know that the developers of WhatsApp Messenger were working on the upcoming arrival of a relaxation when listening to voice messages. In beta for a few weeks, now the feature is available for everyone! Until now, when someone sent you a voice message, you couldn’t leave the conversation in question, otherwise the audio would pause. With this new 22.4.75 update, users will be able to listen to voicemails and audio files outside of chats. You may not see the update on the App Store yet, this is normal, since the update is still being deployed.

Hell exists: we can now send 30-minute voices on Messenger

(Too) long voice messages arrive on Messenger

The question we can ask ourselves when faced with this new feature: if you need to send a 30-minute voiceover to someone, why not call him finally?

However, it is true that the time limit can be annoying. For example, on Instagram, the voices cannot exceed one minute and sometimes you continue to speak without even realizing that the recording has stopped.

But 30 minutes… Still, it’s a long time! And then now that it is possible to re-record your voicemails, who knows: some people may find themselves talking for an hour.

WhatsApp: the new version allows you to read voice messages and audio files outside of discussions

Thus, version 22.4.75 of the WhatsApp application allows users to continue listening to voice messages and audio files even when they leave the conversation and switch to another conversation or when they go to another section of application, which was not possible until now. Previously, it was only possible to quit the application while listening to voicemails and audio files, but not the conversation in which the voicemail and audio file is located.

In the patch notes posted on the App Store, the band states that “You can now play voicemails and audio files outside of chats.” Therefore, you can start listening to an audio message or audio file and switch to another chat, reply to a friend, or even send a bunch of stickers to the family group. Those who use Telegram already know what this brand new feature looks like.

FACEBOOK MESSENGER: NOW, LEAVING A VOICE MESSAGE FOR 30 MINUTES IS POSSIBLE!

(Very) long voice messages on Messenger

In a statement, Facebook announced the launch of new recording options for audio messages on Messenger. facebook messenger thus lengthens the recording time of voice messages up to 30 minutes. The users will be able to replay their voice message before sending it, pause, delete or resume recording. With these new features, Facebook Messenger comes to compete with WhatsApp, which also adopted new features for its audio messages a few months ago.

The “Vanish mode” finally available for all users

the vanish mode, namely ephemeral messages on Messenger, is now available to all users. Rolled out in November 2020, the feature was only available in the US. By activating this mode, it is possible to share memes, GIFs, reactions and temporary stickers. Just open an existing conversation and to sweep up to use this mode, the background becomes black. To switch back to classic conversation, just swipe up again.
