[REVIEW] : Renault lowers the prices of its Zoe and reviews its range

Renault has completely revised the range and prices of its Renault Zoe. The new price list comes into effect immediately. The good news is that the famous electric car is becoming more accessible.

Long alone or very little contested in the French electric market, the Renault Zoe is no longer really in a strong position. Indeed, since the last update of the compact, in 2019, the references of electric vehicles have multiplied. In fact, the price of the Zoe could no longer seem to match the reality of the market. Above all, Renault had to put its range in order before marketing the Mégane e-Tech. This is done with this change in range and price.

A price drop before release

Exit the historic finishes, Life, Zen Intens and Limited, the Zoé recovers those introduced with the future Mégane, namely Equilibre, Evolution and Techno. Overall, this repositioning is accompanied by a move upmarket since the Easy Link connectivity options and the touch screen are available from the entry level now. The new grille also offers more readability in terms of the engines. Until now, depending on the trim level, it was possible to opt for a 110 hp (80 kW) engine or a more powerful one with 135 hp (100 kW). From now on, this R135 engine will remain reserved for the Techno finish, the others being only available with the traditional R110.

Finally, the fall in prices concerns all models, although they have more complete equipment. This is between 500 and 700 euros depending on the level of finish. Concretely, the price of the Zoé starts with the Equilibre version at 32,000 euros, increases to 33,500 euros on the Evolution and starts at 35,200 in the Techno version. Obviously, the three versions are subject to the ecological bonus of 6000 euros. Remember that the Zoe is living its last years of marketing since its replacement, the R5, should arrive in 2024.

RENAULT ZOE E-TECH 2022: NEW RANGE AND PRICE REDUCTION

New finishes and equipment. Forget the old versions that all Renault cars wore: Life, Zen, Intens, Limited without forgetting the limited series such as Grand Large. The ZOE E-Tech 2022 puts everything back on track with 3 finishes Equilibre, Evolution and Techno.

The Balance includes cruise control, electric front windows or electric heated mirrors. New, this basic level has the Easy Link multimedia system with 7-inch screen as standard. The Evolution variant adds 16-inch alloy rims, GPS, rear radar, car air conditioning, recycled fabric upholstery or split bench seats.

The more upscale ZOE Techno model fine-tune the staffing. In addition, it includes 17-inch rims, active emergency braking, blind spot detector, lane departure warning, LED fog lights, reversing camera and electric rear windows.

Note that the engines do not change, as does the 50 kWh battery with 395 km of range (386 km on R135). However, the ZOE Equilibre and Evolution are only compatible with the R110 unit (110 hp). It is therefore necessary to select the most upscale ZOE Techno to own the R135 engine.
