Rocket League will no longer be available for sale on Steam soon

Rocket League may no longer be available for purchase on Steam anytime soon. Epic Games, known as a Fortnite developer and operator of the Epic Games Store, has bought Rocket League developer Psyonix.

In a press release, Epic Games said that the PC version of Rocket League will be “coming to the Epic Games Store in late 2019. In the meantime, it will remain for sale on Steam; it will continue to receive support for all existing buyers thereafter.” That phrasing seems to indicate that you can continue to play Rocket League on Steam, but the game will no longer be available for purchase.

Developer Psyonix does reassure the game’s Steam community by saying that players on Steam will get all the “patches, DLC and other content that becomes available on the Epic Games Store.”

It is not known how much money Epic Games has put on the table to buy Psyonix.
