Safely delete any file from your Mac

When we delete a file from our computer, the system does not “delete” destroying the information, but rather mark the disk sector where it was hosted as “free”, so that another file can occupy it. Meanwhile, the information is still there, can be recovered with various methods and programs, which may not interest us.

In those cases, we will use Permanent Eraser, a program that can delete any file sent to the trash in a totally safe way, since it uses the Gutmann method to destroy the information: overwriting it up to 35 times and truncating the original file in parts.

This method is obviously slower than a normal deletion, but it assures us total confidentiality with our files and the absolute certainty that they cannot be recovered.
