Microsoft has been in the games industry for some time. From the launch of the first Xbox until now, the company is already in its fourth cycle of platforms (remember: original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox Scarlett), and apparently has no plans to stop in the near future.

Speaking to CNET at E3 2019, Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division at Microsoft, revealed that he does not believe in seeing Scarlett as the company’s last console. In addition, he thinks there is still room for video games that use physical media, given that many people are still adept at games in this format.

“I’ve been in the industry for a long time to hear things like ‘this is the latest generation’. Some imagined this when we introduced the streaming service, but I think this offer will enable quality content for more people around you. People say different things in this sense, but the truth that matters is that the best way to enjoy your games is still with a table console, ”said Spencer.

“We know that physical media is still how many people maintain their game libraries. We are obviously trying to take advantage of this with backward compatibility in order to make this integration a big thing ”, said the executive.
