Skybound seeks Telltale developers to end The Walking Dead

Although it recently announced that it will end the Walking Dead Final Season, Skybound Games still has many things to work out before it becomes possible. During an AMA session on Reddit, the company stated that it does not yet have a date to launch the third chapter and is looking for some former Telltale employees to help it develop.

“At this stage, we are still discussing with several team members and I met more than 40 of them in the last week to discuss our plans going forward,” said CEO Ian Howe. “They know what we are trying to do and as soon as the lawyers do their thing, we will be able to speak more freely.”

Work hasn’t started yet

According to Howe, no one is working on the missing episodes, and his hope is that it won’t start until the end of October. He also stated that he wants to complete the next chapter by the end of 2018, with sales of the first two parts expected to resume by the end of this month.

“We will find a way or another to find a space for them on the team”

From what Howe implied, the agreement between Skybound and Telltale is still being worked out, but he predicts that the former developers will have priority when being hired by the company. “We will find one way or another to find a space for them on the team that is practical for them,” said the CEO, acknowledging that for many the move from San Francisco to Los Angeles can be difficult.

“Currently we intend to make the game as it was planned before Telltale closed,” said creative director Kent Mudle. “I am very excited to finish the season. I couldn’t be more fortunate to have Ian and the rest of Skybound excited us and giving us this opportunity, for which I am extremely grateful ”.
