Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord – How To Make The Most Money

Your sequel needs money to survive in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, and once you’ve saved up a little nest, you can start buying Workshops. Right now, in the Early Access version of Bannerlord, Workshops are easily the best way to make massive amounts of money – like ridiculous amounts if you keep your stores stocked.

For around 16,000 denars you can buy your own workshop. If you are the owner, you will earn passive income every day in the game. All you need to do is keep the workshops stocked with the goods they need. Every workshop is different and it is not clear exactly how to buy a workshop or how to restock one. Below, I’ll walk you through everything you need to start your business empire on the right foot.

To start making endless money, you will need to save. Workshops are (currently) the best way to make money in the game, but you’ll need at least 16,000 Denar before you can start buying.

There are early game quests you can complete to earn a lot of money.

  • Unlock the first trading / blacksmithing skills to get more profit from hunting bandits.
  • Hunt bandits, collect their gear (you might want to invest in mules to carry more weight), and sell it in the city markets.
  • With the smithy, you can take the loot and smelt it for raw materials. You can refine the raw materials for more profit or craft items to sell.

It’s an easy way to start making money early in the game, but eventually you’ll want more. Workshops can help you earn over 10,000 denars per day. You can earn over 15,000 or more, depending on what workshops you buy, locations, and whether they’re well stocked.

Since Early Access, the two most profitable workshops are the Forge and Wood workshop. Carpenters are the most profitable, and a The clan (level 1) can have up to two workshops at once. Cost of workshops 15,000 to 20,000 denars.

  • City trip, hold (Left alt) to find a workshop in town. You can find tanneries, lumber shops, blacksmiths and more.
  • Talk to the workshop vendor and agree to buy the workshop. You can choose to change the type of store – I recommend Wood workshops.
  • Once your workshop has been purchased, you will need to keep them in stock with materials. Woodworking shops need hardwood – you can acquire it or buy it in nearby towns.
  • To “donate” your wood workshop materials, you must sell the materials for them.

Epicrotea is a profitable lumber shop – buy it and you can buy hardwood in nearby towns like Andurn and Uthelaim. As long as you resell the material to the city with your workshop, it will be restocked.

How much you earn can also depend on what cities need and if those cities are currently at war. A city that needs supplies will pay more, so choose your battles wisely to increase your profits even more.

How to earn money in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord

Money is the lifeblood of your Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord campaign. It will allow you to hire companions and troops, buy food and equipment, and you can happily play everything on your ability to win tournaments. The first thing to do is to earn money.

In this article, we’re going to walk through some easy ways to make early-game cash. For the end of the game, you will mainly need to expand these areas.

Catch looters

All over the campaign map, small groups of looters can be found. These bandits are useless, and no one will care if you kill them and take their things. Hunt them down and fight them. Survivors can be taken prisoner and sold, while they should also have certain goods that you can sell in a nearby town. This method will provide you with a modest but steady income, more than enough to complete the “Rebuild Your Clan” quest.

Quests

Visiting cities means you can do quests. When you first arrive in a city, look at the top right of the screen and you should see the portraits of the people who live there. Anyone with an exclamation mark on their portrait has a quest that you can help them out. Just click on the portrait, then click Speak to find out what it is. Completing the quests will earn you gold and better diplomacy with this clan.

Trade

Trade will become important when you have more troops and a few horses and mules to increase the number of items your party can carry. You will need to check the items for sale in each city and then find other cities that need those items so that you can sell them for a profit. The only real way to get this information at the start of the game is to do it yourself, so it may be a good idea to keep a list of high value items in different places, trade accordingly.

Tournaments

Participating in tournaments will allow you to bet on yourself, then all you have to do is collapse some skulls on the way to a payout. It’s a fun way to make money, but make sure your fighting skills are well honed, otherwise you could end up losing money that you can’t afford to part with.
