Although we are already talking about MIUI 12.5 and even MIUI 13, Xiaomi is still struggling with various bugs that haunt the latest MIUI 12. We recently talked about the notification issue, but recently another equally annoying one was discovered. I too was affected by this Xiaomi MIUI 12 bug. Initially I thought it was an issue related to the beta I had installed, but it quickly recurred with the installation of the latest MIUI 12 Global Stable for Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. While looking for details on the net, I discovered that it was a bug related to a certain version of the system launcher by Xiaomi. If you run into this, too, there’s a good chance that you (like me) have version 4.19.0.2353-02031 of the app in question.
Fortunately, I fixed it by installing a newer version of the MIUI System Launcher. And you can do that also by downloading the APK file from APKMirror: I downloaded the latest 4.22.0.2908-02011716, so with this version you should solve. Although this is an alpha version of the launcher, the bug does not reappear, while for the stable version it may be necessary to wait a little longer.

We all customize our home screen to our preferences and set the app icons in that order on the home screen. We obviously put here the apps we use the most. But what if we have to do it every time we restart our phone?
Well this is happening on our MIUI 12 device running Mi 10. Here is what the problem is and how to fix it!
What is the problem?
When you arrange the app icons to your preference on the home screen of any Xiaomi device running MIUI 12 and then restart it or put it on charge, what you see is quite annoying. After each reboot, all your home screen customization is gone.
As you can see in the screenshots above, when there were some app icons like YouTube, Zemote and others, and after restarting, all those app icons disappear from the screen of the app. ‘reception. It happens when you restart the phone, turn it off, or charge it after low battery.
How to fix this?
Well, so far we’ve found a temporary fix in settings. If you remember, the app drawer is a new feature of MIUI, and that could be the reason for this problem. So, to fix this problem, you will have to change the home screen setting. Here’s how!
That’s all! Now when you restart the phone after customizing your home screen, you won’t see any changes and all your icons will be there in your preferred order.
As we mentioned before, this is a temporary solution to this problem, because if someone still wants to use the app drawer, they won’t be able to do so. We are waiting for a permanent solution from the company and will update this article once we receive anything.

How to hide icons in the Android status bar
Android’s status bar can be pretty quick, especially if you’re using a non-stock version of Android (like on Samsung or LG phones). Fortunately, with the right tools, you can clean this area without losing functionality.
Let’s define “Status bar”
First of all. Let’s talk about what the status bar is. The top of your Android phone’s main interface is separated into two defined areas: the notification bar and the status bar. The first is where all of your notifications are hosted as they come in, shown simply as icons to let you know there is something that needs your attention. We will do nothing to this “half” of the bar.
The status bar is where you will find the status icons: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile network, battery, time, alarm, etc. The thing is, you might not need to see all of these icons all the time. For example, on Samsung and LG phones, the NFC icons are always displayed when the service is enabled. It doesn’t make much sense, as there is nothing more to see here, unlike Wi-Fi or mobile data, there is no signal to be displayed. Unlike Bluetooth, there is no connection status. It is enabled or disabled. Having an icon in there all the time when it’s on is just plain silly and takes up a lot of space.
But that’s just one example, and you can probably see where we’re headed here.
The good news is that there is an easy way to clean up your status bar. It’s called the System UI Tuner, and it’s actually part of stock Android. If you are using an unstored device, this is not a basic part of the system, but there is a way to use this tool anyway. We’ll cover both methods here.
Access and use the UI Tuner in Stock Android system
We’ve already covered how to enable the System UI Tuner on stock devices to access experimental features, and the process is the same. So, check out this guide for all the details on setting up the elements.

And that’s all there is to it. You know you’ve done it right, because after the fact, the Settings menu opens, a toast notification lets you know you’ve turned the feature on, and a little wrench icon appears next to the gear. .
Go ahead and jump into settings by removing the notification shadow and tapping the gear icon. Scroll to the bottom of the page Settings, then select the option System UI Tuner.
If this is your first time running it, you’ll see a warning letting you know these are experimental items. Type Got it to resend the warning.
These settings are very simple: just deactivate to hide this icon. Changes take effect in real time, so you can see how you feel about them.
Access and use the system UI tuner on other Android variants
Using the System UI tuner on non-stored devices is a bit more complicated, but it’s still not difficult to do. This involves the installation of a third-party utility. Just know that if you are not using a rooted handset, the process will require some AdB commands. Don’t worry though. It’s really simple and everything is covered in detail in our guide.
Once you’ve set up everything else is smooth navigation. Turn on the app System UI Tuner, then open the menu at the top left to get started.
In the menu, choose the option “Status bar”. Just like on stock Android, you can run and activate or deactivate whatever you want. These changes should happen in real time, so if you’re not into how something looks, you can easily change it.
Finally, you can get rid of that cheeky NFC icon. Congratulations.
