Super Smash Bros Ultimate breaks multiple records in the US and Europe
It was foreseeable that Super Smash Bros Ultimate would be successful.
And how it is. Three million copies of the game were sold in the United States alone within eleven days (via Nintendo Life).
The game broke several records. According to Nintendo’s own surveys, it is the fastest-selling Switch game in the US. And also the fastest-selling game in the Smash Bros series.
The game reached the same milestone in Great Britain and the game also got off to a very good start in Japan.
As Nintendo Germany announced today, Super Smash Bros Ultimate is also the fastest-selling game that ever appeared for a Nintendo TV console in Germany and Europe. It surpasses Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which have each been delivered over 10 million times.
In addition, there is more to celebrate, as Nintendo announced. Please note that this information relates to the USA only.
The number of Nintendo devices sold and the hardware sales achieved have reached their highest level since 2011. Likewise, eShop sales increased by 105 percent compared to 2017.
In the United States, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild reached 4 million sales. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe comes to 5 million, Super Mario Odyssey is over 4.7 million.
Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu together have sold 2 million units since their release, Super Mario Party reached 1.4 million.
